I mentioned in a previous post how I love a good “pianoless” trio or quartet. This video is a great example of how good a line up like that can sound. It’s Sonny Rollins‘ group from 1963 and it’s wonderful. The solos are great, the vibe is great, the head is great…hell, the entire thing is great and it gives this jazzer an itch to grab his bass. I hope you guys dig this as much as I do.
