Thanks to the awesomeness of Gizmodo and their live blogging from the 11 am (Eastern Time) Verizon announcement, I was able to find out in real time that my dreams of a Verizon iPhone have come true. I am literally giddy. Literally. This is a beautiful day.
People always ask me, if you’re such a fan of Apple and the iPhone, why didn’t you just go to AT&T? Well, I really enjoy my Pandora internet radio for one. A feature that most AT&T users have a hard time using even in larger cities. Anyhow…
A lot of cats are saying to hold off to get one until Summer when Apple will likely release a new phone but I’m not really concerned with that.
There is also a lot of chatter about this bogging down Verizon’s network. I’m sure it will a little but they have always put the network pretty high on the priority list so I am confident that they will respond quickly. One thing to keep in mind, too, is that most of the iPhone sales will be trade-ins from existing Verizon customers and not additional consumers.
Plus, one feature that will be new to the Verizon version is the ability to use the phone’s connection as a hotspot. That’s a feature that AT&T doesn’t allow (as I understand it).
